Monroe Barton, son of the late Robert D. Barton and Patsy J. Meyers Barton, was born March 23, 1959, in Kennett, and departed this life on Friday, March 19, 2010, at the age of 50 years.
Monroe married Louise Wilburn on Nov. 11, 1983, in Kennett.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Barton, of Kennett; two daughters, Christy Wright and husband, Wil, of Kennett, and Misty Johnson and husband, Nick, of Warrenton, Mo.; three grandchildren, Austin Michael Johnson, Preston Monroe Johnson and Devon Oddie Johnson, all of Warrenton; five brothers, Everett Barton, of Kennett, Bobby Barton and wife, Terry, of Kennett, Randy Barton, of Kennett, Tommy Barton and wife, Liz, of Kennett and Joe Barton and wife, Mary, of Kennett; five sisters, Betty Jo Duncan, of Pine City, Mo., Shirley Duncan and husband, Ricky, of Kennett, Vickie Allen, of Kennett, Tammy Wilburn and husband, John, of Kennett, and Regina Barton, of Kennett; mother-in-law, Linnie Marie Wilburn, of Kennett; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother Baby Paul Barton.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 22, at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Rev. Don Evans officiating.
Burial was in the Gregory Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were James Myers, Ricky Myers, Jeff Lyell, Joe Barton, Mark Barton and Van Fuller.
Honorary pallbearers were Wil Wright, Nick Johnson, Todd Duncan, Richard Duncan and Lenny Duncan.
