Harold Wayne "Hob" Chipman, 79, of Matthews, Mo., formerly of Senath, Mo. area, died Monday, March 8, 2010, at his residence.
Born Jan. 12, 1931, in Hornersville, Mo., son of the late Lewis and Myrtle Williams Chipman, he was a U. S. Marine veteran, having served during the Korean War. He was a farmer, worked for the New Madrid County Highway Department, and was a member of the North Acres General Baptist Church.
On July 29, 1950, in San Francisco, Calif., he married Jackie Keller, who survives.
Survivors also include one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Joy Chipman, of Portageville, Mo.; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and James Hooper, of Wasilla, Alaska; a sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Joy Wayne Holmes, of Senath; five grandchildren and five great-children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, James Karnes, and two brothers, James "Dub" Chipman and Lewis Oneal Chipman.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 11, at Nunnelee Funeral Hone Chapel in Sikeston, Mo., with Rev. Steve Tippen , pastor of the North Acres General Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial was held in the Matthews Cemetery with military honors provided by Missouri Veterans Funeral Honor Guard.
