Funeral services for Mary Etta Ryan, 87, of Algood, Tenn., were held Saturday, March 6, in the Algood Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Her two sons-in-law, Doyle Crawford and Tommy Collier officiated. Interment followed in Algood City Cemetery.

Mrs. Ryan died Wednesday afternoon, March 3, 2010, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

She was born April 8, 1922, in Marion County, Ala., to the late Boss Luther and Edna L. (Corkren) Mays.

Mrs. Ryan was a member of O'Connor Church of Christ in White County and a former member of Algood Church of Christ. She was a retired farmer, who enjoyed working the land with her late husband, William O'Neal Ryan, Sr.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dee Mays; a sister, Ester Stewart; and a brother-in-law, John Stewart.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William O'Neal and Nancy Ryan, Jr., of Tucson, Ariz.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dewona and Doyle Crawford of Cookeville and Brenda and Tommy Collier of Cordova, Tenn.; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Nova Mays of Parma, Mo., Ray and Glenda Mays of Springfield, Mo., Wallace and Virginia Mays of Detroit, Mich., and David and Mary Lou Mays of Huntingdon, Tenn.; one sister and brother-in-law, Fraulein and Kenneth Hice of Owasso, Okla.; and a sister-in-law, Marie Mays of Bernie; six grandchildren, Nicole and husband, Kai Hsiao, Derek and wife, Angie Crawford, Douglas and wife, Jennifer Crawford, Darren Crawford, Craig and wife, Allison Collier, and Christie Collier; and four great-grandchildren, Stacie Crawford, Courtney Crawford, Corbin Crawford and Ryan Hsiao.

Visitation was held Saturday prior to the service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ryan's grandchildren served as pallbearers.
