After serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII, Bill attended Harding College in Searcy, Ark., where he was awarded an A.B. Degree in Liberal Arts in 1948. For the rest of his life, Bill maintained a close relationship with Harding, contributing to its support as he did for numerous other educational institutions and charities. Soon after graduation Bill began his long career with Cities Service Company, rising to the position of senior tax accountant before his retirement.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, and half-sister, Willie May Wrather.
Bill is survived by his many friends, including other members at 29th and Yale Church of Christ, fellow volunteers at Tulsa International Airport, and his housekeeper, Dorothy Henderson.
He will be privately interned in the Nations family plot at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett today, Tuesday, Feb. 16.
