Jeannine Serena Bryant, daughter of James Edward Sutton of Bolingbrook, Ill., and Effie Jean Wade Mays Bryant of Parma, was born on Sept. 30, 1969, in Chicago, Ill., and departed this life at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston on Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, at the age of 40.

Jeannine was a member of the Bread of Life Ministry in Parma. A former reading teacher at Marquette Elementary and Nelson Elementary, both in Muskegon, Mich., and a former manager of D&L One Stop in Parma, she was a caring, active and joyful mother.

She was engaged to Jeffery Johnson. Mr. Johnson and his family, the Perkins family, and the Barnes family have been a special and supportive group to Jeannine.

Besides her fiancÚ and parents, she is survived by one son, Marquise Michael Jaquan Cheeks of Parma; one daughter, Jennifer Helena Brown of East Lansing, Mich.; her stepmother, Mildred Sutton of Bolingbrook; three brothers, Lavel Bryant of San Diego, Calif., John Stephen Wade of Detroit, Mich., and Kristopher Sutton of Bolingbrook; and five special uncles, Clifton Bryant, Kevin Bryant, Gregory Bryant, Anthony Bryant and Wayne Bryant; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, Feb. 15, from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Pastor C. Williams officiating. Following the funeral service, re-pass will be held at the Parma Community Center. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Dexter is in charge of arrangements.
