J. C. Davis, son of the late Louie Davis and Lena Hopper Davis, was born Nov. 27, 1939 in Senath, Mo., and departed this life Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010 at the age of 70 years, 2 months and 7 days.
Survivors include four sons, Allen Davis and his wife, Linda, of Kennett, James Davis and his wife, Amanda, of Kennett, Chris Davis and his wife, Brenda, of Longview, Wash., and Tony Davis, of St. Louis, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Davis and his wife, Kathy of St. Louis, Mo., and Ricky Davis and his wife, Charlotte, of Warrenton, Mo.; one sister, Hattie Palmer and husband, Buster of Senath, Mo. J.C. had many other friends and relatives who loved him.
J.C was preceded in death by two sisters, Maxine Stanfield and Dorothy Ely.
He is described by his family as being very generous but "onery" and loved to kid around. He is also described as a man who loved the outdoors and was as an avid fisherman and hunter, even when the game was out of season. He was very much loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Memorial services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 6, at Calvary Fellowship Church in Kennett with Rev. Brian Shearer officiating.
