On January 29, KPD responded to a minor accident at the intersection of Compress and Frisco.
The incident occurred as driver number one, Margie Kyburz, of Kennett, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Impala and driver number two, Keesha L. Reeves, of Kennett, was driving a 1995 Pontiac Bonneville.
According to Kyburz, she was attempting to stop and Reeves continued moving towards her vehicle until the two vehicles collided head on.
Reeves noted that she witnessed Kyburz having trouble driving on the ice and attempted to dodge Kyburz, but was struck in the left rear side of her vehicle.
The police officer on the scene noted that Reeves vehicle had slight damage to the left rear door and Kyburz vehicle had damage to the front bumper.
The next accident occurred at 1:20 p.m., on January 31, as driver one, Jerry B. Wheeler, of Kennett, was driving a 1992 Ford Explorer, and driver two, Bobby J. Nutt, of Rector, Ark., was driving a 2008 Nissan Titan.
The police report notes that both vehicles were traveling east on St. Francis Street when Wheeler slid into the rear of Nutt's vehicle while he was stopped at a stop sign.
Wheeler explained that he looked down at his cell phone and looked back up, but was unable to stop in time, according to the police report.
Also, at around 11:30 p.m., on January 31, another accident occurred as driver one, Tyler Ross, of Holcomb, Mo., was driving a 2003 GMC Sierra. Ross was driving west at the intersection of Ely Road and Rather Street when he hit a speed bump, according to the police report.
After striking the speed bump, Ross lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree, the report noted.
The fourth accident occurred around 6:50 p.m., on February 1, while driver one, Christopher Brothers, of Blytheville, Ark., was driving a 2004 Ford Escort, and driver two, Danny Floyd, of Kennett, was driving a 2007 Ford Escape.
Brothers was driving on Independence Avenue and looked down from the view of the road.
When Brothers looked back up, Floyd was slowing down and Brothers collided with Floyd's vehicle, according to the police report.
At around 7:20 p.m., on February 1, the fifth accident occurred while driver one, Billy Joe W. Luttrull, of Kennett, was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer, and driver two, Nicholas P. Cobb, of Kennett, was driving a 2005 Ford Explorer.
The report noted that Luttrull was driving south on Vandeventer and Cobb was driving West on Clipper when Luttrull began sliding on the ice.
Luttrull was unable to stop before colliding with the side of Cobb's vehicle, according to the police report.
