Frances Luvina Dickie, daughter of Veates Wilson Horton, and the late Nute Oliver Horton, was born, Aug. 31, 1928 in Turrell, Ark., and departed this life Friday, Jan. 29, 2010 at the age of 81 years, 4 months and 29 days.
Frances married Robert M. Dickie on July 26, 1946.
Survivors include her husband, Robert M. Dickie, of Kennett; one son, Dennis Dickie and his wife, Pat, of Southhaven, Miss.; one daughter, Pat Brown and her husband, Frank, of Kennett; four grandchildren, Kristi Scoggins, Shawn Johnson, Adam Dickie and Sarah Merritt; eight great-grandchildren; her mother, Vestes Rouse of Kennett; four sisters, Juanita Foster, of Rector, Ark., Dorothy Wright, of Piggott, Ark., Margaret Stevens, of Rushville, Ind., and Barbara Egbert, of Columbia, Ohio, and other relatives and many friends.
Frances was preceded in death by a sister, Nina Doremus.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 1, at McDaniel Funeral Home chapel in Kennett with Rev. John Kruger officiating.
Burial was in Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Mike Scoggins, Kris Johnson, Dan Carlisle, Cremer Jackson, Terry Watson and Todd Watson.
