Born Feb. 4, 1941, in Holcomb, son of the late Clarence Cooper and Lucille Haywood-Cooper, he was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include a son, Christopher Cooper, of Little Rock and Deborah Silas-Cooper, of Little Rock; a brother, Bob Cooper and wife, Joan, of Holcomb; five sisters, Jean Summit, of Cardwell, Mo., Bernice Fey and husband, Don, of Wichita, Kan., Pat Moore and husband, Major, of Holcomb, Betty Bowen and husband, Dave, of Holcomb, and Peggy Penrod, of Holcomb; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford "Buck" Cooper and Donald Ray Cooper, and four sisters, Opal Laverne Cooper, Barbara Sue Cooper, Marzella Cooper Byrd and Verna Mae Cooper Kinder.
A private memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 30, at the Assembly of God Church in Holcomb.
