Virginia Hamlett

Virginia Louise (Hartle) Bridges Collums Hamlett, of Kennett, daughter of the late Robert Eleck Hartle and Mattie Dee Johnson Hartle was born March 19, 1926 in Caruth, Mo., and departed this life on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett, at the age of 83 years, 9 months and 28 days.

Virginia married Willard "Punk" Bridges who preceded her in death and later married C.T. Hamlett who preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 2010. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Harold, Eleck Jr., Ode and Elmer Hartle and a sister, Cora Lee Shields.

Survivors include one son, James "Butch" Bridges and his wife, Shorty, of Fairmont, Ill.; one daughter, Connie Smith and her husband, James, of Armorel, Ark.; seven grandsons; many great-grandchildren; two step-son, Larry Hamlett and wife, Jane, of Hawaii and Bob Hamlett of Wood River, Ill.; one step-daughter, Lynn Clark and husband, Don, of St. Charles, Mo.; one brother, Bob Hartle and his wife, Lois, of Farmington, Mo.; one sister, Pat Scott and her husband, Rondal, of Senath, Mo., and many nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 18, at McDaniel Funeral home Chapel in Kennett with Rev. Charles Faught officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Jerry Patterson, Ricky Morgan, Jimmy Morgan, James Scott, Jeromy Auler and Terry Payne.
