Charles Dewayne Lemonds, son of Gladys Virginia (Fuller) Lemonds and the late William Eugene Lemonds, was born December 26, 1954, in Madison, Ill., and went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, Dec. 30, at his home in White Oak, Mo.
Survivors include; three daughters, Crystal Perry, and husband Matt, of Bristow, Va., Maranatha Moses, and husband Jeffrey, of Atlanta, Ga., and Morriah McPhie, and husband Matt, of Atlanta; five grandchildren, Amelia, Cole, and Madeline Perry, and Faith and Hannah Moses; his mother, Gladys Virginia Lemonds, of White Oak; four brothers, Johnnie Lee Lemonds, of Lawrenceville, Ga., Dannie Eugene Lemonds, of Mammoth Springs, Ark., Jerry Lemonds, of Collinsville, Ill., and Jimmy Lemonds, of Mammoth Springs; two sisters, Debbie Ellison, of Houston, Texas, and Deronda Hinson, of Collinsville, Ill.; 20 nieces and nephews; 26 great nieces and nephews; and other relatives and many friends.
Charles was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Larry Ellison.
Charles served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1972 to 1976. He owned and operated Alpha & Omega Vending for several years in Atlanta, before retiring in White Oak helping his mother.
He was a proud father, brother and son and will be missed by all of his family, friends, and anyone who knew him.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m., on Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Mr. Jimmy Lemonds and the Rev. Harold Dunbar officiating.
Burial will be in Sumach Cemetery in Holcomb, Mo.
Pallbearers will be Johnny, Dannie, and Jerry Lemonds, Glynn Moseley, Steve Creek, and Eugene Lemonds.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Grant, Austin, and Ian Lemonds, Mike Hinson and Jerry Lemonds, Jr.
McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett will be in charge of all arrangements.
