Fred was in the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War and was also a member of the Varner River Baptist Church.
On April 29, 1994, Fred married Marla Hicks, who survives.
Other survivors include; two sons, David Blanton, of Barnhart, Mo., and Danny Blanton, of Pevely, Mo.; one daughter, Lisa Biggs, of Arnold, Mo.; two step-daughters, Stephanie Estes, and husband Wade, of Kennett and Sarah Jo Morgan, and husband Scotty, of Holcomb, Mo.; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Jake, Ben, Sarah, Samantha, and Charlie; six great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren, Kelsey, Wyatt, and Eli; two brothers, Iler Blanton, Jr., and Earl Blanton, both of Piedmont, Mo.; two sisters, Sally Beachum, of Plymouth, Mich., and Betty Tow, of St. Louis, Mo.; and other relatives and many friends.
Fred was preceded in death by three brothers, Dewey, James, and Leonard Blanton, and two sisters, Hilda Mae Dillar, and Martha Waynick.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., today, Tuesday, Dec. 29, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett with service being held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 30, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Dunbar officiating.
Burial will be in Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton, Mo.
Pallbearers will be Terry Fuller, Danny Broglin, David Hicks, Steven Hicks, Dennis Brown, and Lanny Broglin.
Honorary Pallbearers are Charles Wilson, Charles Fuller, Steve Fuller, Henry Broglin, H.M. Julian, Johnny Robertson, Albert Carr, Lacey Lynn, Dennis Nail, Dale Beaty, Duane Lemonds, and Jim McElwrath.
Memorials may be made to the Varner River Baptist Church.
