Jim was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Kennett Masonic Lodge, and Rotary Club. He was the owner and president of Kennett Finance Inc., where he was known as the "Loan Arranger."
He was also a member of the U.S. Army where he served during World War II.
Other survivors include; two sons, Jimmy Collier, and wife Dana, of Manhattan Beach, Calif., and Matt Collier, and wife Beth, of St. Louis, Mo.; two daughters, Kay Elizabeth Collier, of Kennett, and Shelly Collier Dewberry, and husband Jerry, of Springfield, Mo.; five grandchildren, Noel Bankhead, and wife Cheri, Nick Bankhead, and wife Jodie, Niki Collier, Maddie Collier, and Michael James Collier; two great-grandchildren, Victoria Bennett, and Raliegh Bankhead; and other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., today, Tuesday, Dec. 29, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett, with services being at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 30, at the First United Methodist Church in Kennett with the Rev. Michael Kelpe officiating.
Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett.
Pallbearers will be Ward Billings, Greg Colwick, Brian Mitchell, Kevin Gamble, Jim Colhouer, Nick Bankhead and Johnny Nelson.
Honorary pallbearers will be A.J. Nelson, Bill Walsh, Jack Astrachan, Richard Edgington, and Gerry Gamble.
McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett is in charge of all arrangements.
