Joy Staggs

Joy Ann Smallmon Staggs, of Kennett, daughter of Frank L. Smallmon and Glenda L. Berry Smallmon, was born Sept. 28, 1954, in St. Joseph, Mich., and departed this life on Friday, December 25, 2009, at the age of 55 years, 2 months, and 27 days at NEA Baptist Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.

On August 14, 1985, in Blytheville, Ark., she married Lonnie M. Staggs, who survives.

Other survivors include; one son, Joseph Marvin Staggs, of Kennett; one step-son, Richie Marvin Staggs, and wife Janie, of North Carolina; three grandchildren; two brothers, David Franklin Smallmon, of Kennett, and Jeffery Allen Smallmon, and wife Tracey J., of Paragould, Ark.; David's daughters, April L. Smallmon, C.J. Smallmon, and step-daughter, Skylar White; Jeffery's daughter Shannon L. Pillow, and his son Jeffery Allen Smallmon, Jr.; great nephew, Tad Johnson; and other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., today, Tuesday, Dec. 29, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett with service being held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 30, with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.

Burial will be held in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett.
