Elbert Williams, 82 of Kennett, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009 at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
He was born June 19, 1927 to the late German and Sadie Bylsma Williams in Pollard, Ark.
Mr. Williams served as a voluntary fireman for 34 years at the North Park Volunteer Fire Department in Illinois.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Eugene "Geno" Williams; two brothers, Charles and Pete Williams and one sister, Wilma Helms.
Elbert is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Mary Frances Edwards Williams; five sons and their wives, Charles and Lien Williams, of Rockford, Ill., Jerry D. and Pam Williams, of Kennett, Terry and Kim Williams, of Racine, Wis., Richard and Son Williams, of Italy and Ronnie and Julie Williams, of Rockford, Ill.; two daughters and their husbands, Debbie and Bill Hardy, of Kennett, and Jeanine and Mike Stanley, of Kennett; a daughter-in-law, Karen Williams, of Jacksonville, Fla.; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one brother, Darrell Williams, of Rockford, Ill.; one sister, Margie White, of Piggott, Ark., along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 27, at the Irby Funeral Home in Rector.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 28, at the Irby Funeral Home in Rector.
Burial will follow in the Woodland Height Cemetery.
