Intoxicated teens threaten family with weapon, arrested by police

Thursday, December 24, 2009
The Senath Police Department recently arrested two males, both charged with minor in consumption of alcohol, and one also charged with unlawful use of a weapon.

The arrest occurred on Thursday, December 17, as two males, a 17-year-old and 18-year-old, arrived at a residence on Rose Street wanting to fight the son of the owner of the home.

The mother of the residence contacted the police department.

City Marshall Omar Karnes noted that when he arrived the two males were standing in the street.

"I looked at their eyes and could tell they had been drinking," Karnes said.

He added that he could also smell the alcohol.

The mother of the home on Rose Street explained to Karnes that the 18-year-old, of Kennett, had pulled a knife and said, "come out in the street and I'll murder all of you," according to Karnes.

He added that the mother said the subjects also called her explicit names.

Karnes noted that the two males did not deny this activity and both were transported to jail that night.

The 17-year-old juvenile subject, of Senath, was released with charges of peace disturbance and minor in consumption. The 18-year-old of Kennett was released with pending charges of minor in consumption and unlawful use of a weapon, according to Karnes.

And why were the names not listed since they are of the age that they could be?

List their names AND the names of their "parents." The older man should be charged with terroristic threatening? The citizens of the community have a right ( and the police have an obligation to disclose) to know the names of those creatures. This is not a childhood prank. The behavior is criminal, with all that means. Lock them up for a while, and save their lives, and the lives of those with whom those dummkophs come in contact in the future.
