The arrests occurred on December 18, as agents of the Bootheel Drug Task Force worked under the direct supervision of Sheriff Tommy Greenwell, along with officers from the Steele Police Department, Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department, and ATF.
During the course of the five-month investigation, agents conducted over 30 covert drug "buys" inside the City of Steele, according to a report from the Bootheel Drug Task Force.
These illegal narcotic "buys," included several types of controlled substance, such as; methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription pills, cocaine, and handguns, the report noted.
The suspects arrests include:
* Misty Beckman, 31, of Steele, who was arrested on two counts of Sale of a Controlled Substance, and has a bond of $50,000;
* Dosh Renee Allison, 51, of Steele, who was arrested on one count of Sale of a Controlled Substance, and has a bond of $25,000;
* Lawrence Joe McCants, of Steele, who was arrested on two counts of Sale of a Controlled Substance, and has a bond of $50,000;
* Shawn Gray, 35, of Steele, who was arrested on two count of Sale of a Controlled Substance, and has a bond of $75,000;
* Tony Jay, 50, of Steele, who was arrested on two counts of Sale of a Controlled Substance, and has a bond of $50,000;
* Kenneth Brown, 36, of Caruthersville, Mo., who was arrested on one count of Sale of a Controlled Substance, and has a bond of $50,000;
* Danny Stover, 60, of Steele, who was arrested on one count of Sale of a Controlled Substance, and has a bond of $25,000;
* Adam Jones, 23, of Steele, who was arrested on three counts of Sale of a Controlled Substance, and has a bond of $25,000;
* and Christopher Grant, 23, of Steele, who was arrested on one count of Sale of a Controlled Substance, and one count of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, who has a bond of $50,000;
The suspects were arrested and transported to the Pemiscot County Justice Center in lieu of a bond, according to the report.
The report noted that some of the suspects involved in the investigation were not located by officers.
The renewed focus on the illegal drug sales in Steele was made possible with the addition of Sgt. Investigator Michael George to the Bootheel Drug Task Force, according to the report.
The report noted that, in addition to George, Chief Billy Joe Stanfield, of the Steele Police Department, has made it a focus of his to combat illegal narcotic sales in the City of Steele.
The report added that several investigations are being conducted and more arrests are expected.
