Jerry Lyman Moore, son of the late Lyman Moore and Velma Dozier Moore was born August 3, 1932 in Portageville, Mo., and departed this life on December 17, 2009, at the age of 77 years, 4 months and 14 days.
Jerry married Yvette Pigmon on November 14, 1959 at Hemphill Baptist Church in Kennett, Mo., who survives the home.
Other survivors include a son, Jody Moore of Kennett, Missouri; a daughter, Jana Chandler, and husband, Joe, of Caruth, Mo.; a granddaughter Jessica Moore-Jamerson raised in the home of Jerry and Yvette, and her husband, Aaron of Hornersville, Mo.; two grandsons, T.J. And Mathew Chandler of Caruth; a great-granddaughter, Halle Jamerson of Hornersville; two sisters, Shirley Bruce of Senath, Mo., and Betty Lynn of Kennett; a mother-in-law, Hallie Pigmon of Kennett and other relatives, many nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Ray Moore and Morris "Barcie" Moore; and three sisters, Geraldine James, Mary Rankin and Pearl Pelts.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 20, 2009 from 6 to 9 p.m., at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett with services being held at 11 a.m., Monday, December 21, 2009 at McDaniel Chapel with Reverends Bud Evans and Jason Bowen officiating.
Burial will take place in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Jerry was a member of Third Street Baptist Church and served a tour of duty with the U.S. Navy.
Pallbearers include Don Sikes, Jerry Hall, Max Morgan,Terry Fuller, Thad Loggins, Hubert Snipes, Charles Fuller and Dickie Dobbins. Honorary Pallbearers include John Gamble, Donnie Brooks, Bob White, William Loggins and Jeff Damron.
