3 injured in 2-car collision near Deering

Three area residents were injured, with one suffering from serious injuries, following a two-car collision near Deering, Mo., on Tuesday.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol Sgt. T.E. Crowe, at approximately 7:25 a.m., Joshua Moreland, 22, of Dyersburg, Tenn., was traveling westbound on Route C, one mile west of Deering, when he failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a 2000 Ford, driven by David Scott, 35, of Steele, Mo.

Scott suffered serious injuries and was transported by AirEvac to St. Francis Medical Center at Cape Girardeau, Mo. His passenger, Laden Trask, 19, of Kennett, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital by a private vehicle.

Moreland suffered minor injuries, yet refused treatment.

Scott's 2000 Ford was reported as totaled and was towed from the scene by B & B Wrecker of Steele.

Moreland's 1995 GMC suffered extensive damage and was towed from the scene by R & P Towing of Hayti, Mo.
