She was preceded in death by her first husband, Burley B. Pelts in April 1974. She was later married to the second love of her life, Ray Rettig, who preceded her in death October 2000. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Kenneth Paul Pelts; a sister, Betty Gean Burton; a brother, Wayne Ballard Burton and a grandson, Timothy Pelts.
Survivors include one son, Jerry B. Pelts and his wife, Mary, of Mt. Home, Ark.; a daughter, Jan Pelts Hudson and her husband, Joe, of Shreveport, La.; four grandsons, Major Gregory Pelts and wife, Shelly, of Cabot, Ark., Jon Hudson and wife, Jeila, of Cebu, Phillippines, Jay Hudson, of Austin, Texas, and Jordan Hudson and fiancée, Heather Provenza, of Shreveport, La.; two great-grandsons, Brennan and Jackson Pelts, both of Cabot, Ark.; one uncle, Dud Tackeberry, of Senath, Mo.; special cousins, Winfred Tackeberry, of Kennett, Paul Tackeberry, of Marlette, Mich., and Erica Tackeberry Jennings, of Hemet, Calif.
Memorials may be made to Shady Grove Baptist Church in Kennett, or the charity of the donors choice.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 16, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett, with a graveside service at 11:30 a.m., at Liberty Cemetery in Caruth, Mo.
