Along with the floats, the parade will also feature antique cars, church groups, schools, and officials from the area, according to Senath Women's Club member Patsy Davis.
Davis noted that the parade will begin at 4:30 p.m., at the Senath-Hornersville School. The participants will travel down State Street and turn on Commercial Street to end at the Church of Christ.
Santa Clause will arrive on a fire engine and following the parade will be available to give free candy to children in Williamson Park, according to Davis. She added that the Santa Clause give-away is scheduled between 5:30 and 6 p.m.
Davis also noted that a $200 first place prize will be given for the "best float," along with a $150 second place prize, and a $100 third place prize. Other prizes include a $50 first place prize and $25 second place prize for the decorating of small vehicles, such as "mules," according to Davis.
Davis thanked the churches in the community and the school for their participation in each year's parade.
"They really help us out," Davis said.
She noted that the Senath-Hornersville coronation queens would also be participating in the parade, along with queens from the Senath-Hornersville Middle School.
"We want everybody to come out and enjoy this year's Christmas Parade and invite anyone to participate," Davis said.
Individuals interested in participating in the parade can contact Davis at (573) 344-2280 or (573) 738-3435.
