Betty Carolyn Landrum, daughter of the late Edgar L. "Pete" Shannon and Zenith Vivian McCluney Shannon, was born Aug. 24, 1936 in Rector, Ark., and departed this life on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, at National HealthCare in Kennett, at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 11 days.
Betty married Victor Harrison Landrum on April 24, 1954. Victor preceded her in death on January 2, 1992.
Survivors include two sons, Eddie Landrum and his wife, Connie, of Amite, La., and Danny Landrum and his wife, Angie, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two daughters, Vicki Rhew and her husband, Michael, of Kennett and Lori Telgen, of Kennett; eight grandchildren, Wesley and Philip Landrum, Andy Rhew, Angela Payne, Jeremy Landrum, Missy Landrum, Jordan Shelton and Joely Telgen; one great-grandson, Harrison Rhew, and other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Rev. Jim Pemberton officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Byrne Wood, Steve Tyler, Edwin Bradley, Roman Nigut, Jeremy Allgood and David Wright.
