Born June 17, 1922, in Holcomb, Mo., son of the late Lee and Hattie Wayne Watson, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII, a farmer and a member of Providence Baptist Church.
On Dec. 11, 1945, in Dunklin county, he married Katie Walker, who preceded him in death on April 12, 1995. He was also preceded in death by one son, Jerry Watson; one sister, Gladys Hill and one grandchild, Amy Butler.
Survivors include one son, Carl Eugene Watson (Linda), of Kennett; three daughters, Sue Faught (the late Tony), of Kennett, Teresa Essen (Greg), of Boca Raton, Fla., and Pam Butler (Virgil), of Kennett; special friend, JoAnn Wallace, of Wardell, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Friday, Dec. 4, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 5, at Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Troy Alley officiating.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
