Elvis Abbott

Elvis Abbott, son of the late James Abbott and Ethel (Landers) Abbott, was born Jan. 27, 1934, in McDougal, Ark., and departed this life on Nov. 13, 2009, at the age of 75 years.

Elvis married Betty J. Presson on March 31, 1966, in Clayton, Mo.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; three sons, Gary Abbott of St. Louis, Mo., Donny Abbott of St. Louis, and Tony Hall of Campbell, Mo.; three daughters, Linda Abbott of Denver, Colo., Shelly Abbott of Denver, and Sheila Dye of Holcomb, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jeldrine Lowe of Poplar Bluff and Fredia Holfield of St. Louis; other relatives and many friends.

Elvis was preceded in death by his brother, Emery Abbott.

Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 14, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., today, Sunday, Nov. 15, at McDaniel Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Bob Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett.
