Jerry Floyd

Jerry Don "Redbird" Floyd, son of the late Enoch Floyd, Jr. and Imogene Gunther Floyd, was born Oct. 11, 1946 in Kennett, and departed this life Monday, Nov. 9, 2009 at the age of 63 years and 29 days.

Survivors include one son, Micheal Lynn Floyd and his wife, Beverly, of Roseville, Mich.; one daughter, Tina Renee Thompson and her husband, Ray of Las Vegas, Nev.; three grandchildren, Zachary and Christian Thompson and Colin Floyd; one sister, Diana Justus, of Senath, Mo., and other relatives and many friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by one sister, Dora Ann Dorhann.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to service time at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009 at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Rev. Jody McFadden officiating.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the doctors and staff of St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo., Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., and Great River Medical Center in Blytheville, Ark.
