Harley McGarity

Harley McGarity, of Hornersville, Mo., son of the late Dossie McGarity and Edith Copeland McGarity, was born Feb. 14, 1936, in Adamsville, Tenn., and departed this life Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at Hornersville, at the age of 73 years, 8 months and 16 days.

Harley married Reba Westerfield on April 11, 1957 in Kennett.

Survivors include his wife, Reba McGarity, of Hornersville; four sons, Ricky McGarity, of Jonesboro, Ark., Timothy McGarity, of Rives, Mo., Michael McGarity, of Vancouver, Was., and Jerry McGarity, of Tucson, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Harley was preceded in death by a brother, E.D. McGarity and four sisters, Louise Gilliam, Aileen Hensley, Mamie McKensie and Jane Brown.

Visitation will be at 1 p.m., today, Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett, until graveside services at 2:30 p.m., in Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett with Rev. Jimmy Skaggs officiating.

Pallbearers are Ricky, Timothy, Michael and Jerry McGarity.

Honorary pallbearers are Matthew and Justin McGarity.
