The Kennett Police Department responded to an accident on Carter Street on Tuesday where a Pontiac Grand Am, traveling west, crossed the opposite lane and crashed through the fence of the Masonic Lodge and into a utility pole, next to a local playground.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:29 p.m., as the driver of a 1997 Pontiac Grand Am, Misty D. Foulks, of Kennett, damaged the East entrance to the Masonic Lodge, followed by the collision with the utility pole, according to the police report.

Upon the Kennett Police Department's arrival, it was discovered that two individuals were injured in the accident, including Foulks, and passenger, Jared N. Riddle, of Kennett, the report noted.

During interviews with officers, Foulks noted that Rickey D. Levels, of Bragg City, Mo., who was also present at the scene, had been attempting to get into the vehicle. Foulks added that Levels was informed that he could not get into the car and she began to drive off. As Foulks drove off and accelerated, Levels grabbed the wheel causing her to swerve off of the roadway and strike the fence and utility pole, according to Foulks' account to police. In a separate interview, Riddle recollected the same actions from Levels, according to the police report.

Additionally, the details of the police report indicated probable contributing circumstances to the incident, involving drugs, in association with Levels.

Allgood's Towing Service was used to tow the vehicle from the scene of the accident.

No charges have been pursued in the accident at this time, according to the Kennett Police Department.
