Gin fire originates in seed house

The Kennett Fire Department responded to a fire call from Graves Gin at approximately 9 a.m., on Monday. The fire originated in the seed house, according to officials. Assistant Fire Chief David Horton noted that the fire did not cause major damage because the seed house was empty of product. He added that the residual cotton and material was all that burned in the building. Horton said that the department is unsure what caused the fire. KFD remained on the scene for two to three hours to ensure that the activity had ceased.
