At approximately 12:17 p.m., on Tuesday, Kennett police responded to a residential burglary at a residence located on 204 Wiggs Street.
Upon the officers arrival on the scene, it was determined that a person or persons had entered the home through the rear door.
Items missing from the residence included a dell lap top personal computer and several DVD's, according to the police report.
Investigation into the crime led officers to a suspect living in the neighborhood. The report noted that this suspect was already wanted for questioning in another residential burglary that was committed at 312 North Vandeventer Street.
On Friday, October 23, Kennett officers made contact with the suspect, an 18-year-old male, of Kennett, who had been seen in the area of both burglaries and had been attempting to sell a lap top computer near his residence on Wayne Street, according to officials.
While talking with the suspect, officers spotted several DVD's and a backpack that matched the description of items taken from the Wiggs Street residence.
As a result, the suspect was transported to the Kennett Police Department for further questioning and the items were confiscated as evidence.
Upon arrival in the department, the suspect confessed to both burglaries.
Along with the arrest of the subject, Kennett officers were able to recover a Dell computer, 95 DVD's, a PlaysStation, and a black backpack.
Officers have sent a report of both burglaries to the Dunklin County Prosecuting Attorney for filing of formal charges.
