Frances Jo Benjamin, 78, of Malden, Mo., died Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, at Golden Living Center in Malden.
Born Oct. 10, 1931, in Ute, Iowa, daughter of the late Sherman Bruce and Harriett Frances Kelley Shipley, she was a sales clerk and a member of the First Christian Church in Malden.
On Jan. 19, 1952, in Piggott, Ark., she married Richard Martin Benjamin, who preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1995. She was also preceded in death by one son, Richard Martin Benjamin II, and a brother, Jim Shipley.
Survivors include special friend, Jim Roehm, of Malden; two daughters, Janet Cox and husband, Ronnie, and Joni Summer, all of Malden; one son, Robert Benjamin and wife, Evy, of Campbell, Mo.; grandchildren, Kara Jo Harris and husband, Clay, of Bellville, Ill., Richard Benjamin and Samantha Bartlett, of Parma, Mo., Derek Benjamin and Casey, of Fayetteville, Ark., Daniel Ridge Benjamin, of Avianno, Italy, Jason Howell and wife, Daniela, of Brooklyn, N.Y., Brian Cox and wife, Summer, of Sikeston, Mo., and Meagan and Dillon Thompson, both of Campbell; six great-grandchildren, and a brother, Bruce Shipley and wife, Bonnie, of O'Fallon, Mo.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., today, Wednesday, Oct. 14, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., today, Wednesday, Oct. 14, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Krupinski officiating.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden.
