Harry R. Rogers, son of the late Ray and Pearl Smedley Rogers, was born Sept. 18, 1923 in Vincet, Mo. He passed away Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, in Kennett, at the age of 86 years and 11 days.
He was an active member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.
On June 4, 1944, he married Lois Williams, who preceded him in death on April 29, 2008. He was also preceded in death by one son, Randy Rogers; one brother, James Rogers and one sister Lenora Chailland.
Survivors include one son, Gaylon Rogers and his wife Charray, of Blytheville, Ark.; two grandchildren, Brittney Mills and her husband Ricky, of Benton, Ark., and Hannah Rogers of Blytheville; one great-grandson, Cooper Mills, of Benton; two brothers-in-law, Carl Williams and his wife Barbara, of Kennett and Odell Williams, of Warner-Robins, Ga.; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Thursday, Oct. 1 at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Oct. 2, in the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers are Jim Baker, Brent Carr, Toby Lane, Ricky Mills, Larry Rogers and Carl Williams.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life or the Shady Grove Baptist Church in Kennett.
