Schanda/Newberry

Elizabeth Ann Schanda and John Alexander Newberry were united in marriage at half past six o'clock in the evening on July 11, 2009, in the garden of the bride's parents in Forsyth, Mo. Reverends Mark Cowsert and Dennis Winzenried officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. A.H. Schanda of Forsyth, formerly of Kennett. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Elman Merritt and the late Elman Merritt of Kennett, and the late Rev. and Mrs. Willie Schanda of Forsyth.

The groom is the son of Sandra Newberry and the late Ron Newberry of Alpena, Ark. He is the grandson of Mrs. Jean Burns and the late Jack Burns of Alpena and the late J.V. Newberry of Osage, Ark., and the late Vesta Blevins of Harrison, Ark.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father. Her sisters, Mary Helen Schanda Snider and Amanda Schanda Harris of Ozark, Mo., were the matrons of honor. Junior bridesmaid was Alexis Baker of Alpena, niece of the groom. Flower girls were Katelynn Harris of Ozark, niece of the bride, and Keara Moore of Seattle, daughter of the groom.

Ryan Tabor of Lee's Summit, Mo., served the groom as best man. Groomsman was Joey Taylor of North Little, Ark. Flower girl escorts were Owen Harris and Samuel Snider of Ozark, nephews of the bride. Benjamin Snider of Ozark, nephew of the bride, served as ringbearer. Ushers were Clint Harris and David Snider of Ozark, brothers-in-law of the bride, Brandon Newberry of Harrison, nephew of the groom, Jason Schanda of Nixa, Mo., cousin of the bride, Joseph Deimund of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Tyler Mathenia, of Kirbyville, Mo., formerly of Holcomb, Mo.

Daryl Wilcoxson of Kennett provided instrumental and vocal music. Other vocalists were Sarah Polsgrove Jarrell of Dexter, Mo., and Martha Ann Polsgrove of St. Louis, Mo., cousins of the bride. Lisa Stephens Stacks of Hornersville, Mo., was the reader. Megan Newberry, niece of the groom, attended the guest book.

A garden reception was held following the ceremony.

The couple is making their home in Kansas City, Mo.
