The event is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m., and the walk will begin and conclude at Williamson Park. During the course of the walk, participants will travel along a designated path in the South side streets of Senath, according to event organizer Pam Small.
Along with the walk, the event will also include door prizes, music, and giveaways. Small noted that the club has also sold pink ribbons which have been placed on light posts in the park with a name chosen by the purchasing individual.
The 2008 Walk for a Cure raised over $3,000 and included over 200 participants.
The funds raised are donated to the Susan Coleman Foundation out of Dallas, Texas, but all money raised during the event returns to aid local affiliates, according to Small.

She added that businesses were able to donate cash or an items to be used as prizes or giveaways. Businesses donating a value of $50 or more will receive advertising space on the sponsor section of the specially designed T-shirts.
The businesses are also welcome to set up tables in Williamson Park the day of the event for the business.
The community really cam together during the walk last year, for a common cause, the fight against breast cancer, according to The Senath Women's Club.
