Winifred "Winnie" Lorraine Wallace, age 90, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, September 5, 2009, at Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo., where she has resided for the last month.
She was born in Kennett on February 20, 1919, to George and Lillie Bledsoe. She and Daniel "Wayne" Wallace were married on January 9, 1938.
Mrs. Wallace was a homemaker who loved to cook, garden, and to especially spend time with family. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Kennett for over 50 years where she held numerous volunteer positions in her earlier years.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Wallace, and wife Dianne, of St. Louis, Mo.; three daughters, Annett Schuch, and husband Tony, of Cape Girardeau, Carolyn Foster, and husband Jerry, of Little Rock, Ark., and Marilyn Bullock, of Blytheville, Ark.; three sisters, Glendola Barker of Pace, Fla., Betty Arnold of Milton, Fla., and Mary Collins of Twin Peaks, Calif.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and 12 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, two sisters, and a grandson.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m., to 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2009, with service being held at 11 a.m., at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett.
Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery of Kennett with the Rev. Ed Jansson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southeast Hospice of Cape Girardeau or First Baptist Church of Kennett.
McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett is in charge of the arrangements.
