Frank Pierce Carter, Jr., son of the late Frank Pierce Carter, Sr., and Vada Lou Ferguson Carter, was born Dec. 12, 1933, in Blytheville, Ark., and departed this life on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, at the age of 75 years, eight months and eight days.

Frank married Helen Fuller on Oct. 18, 1959, in Oxford, Miss.

He served in the United States Air Force, and was a member of the Third Street Baptist Church in Kennett.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Carter, of Kennett; two sons, Frank P. Carter III and wife, Tina, of Kennett, and David L. Carter and wife, Holly, of Nashville, Tenn.; one daughter, Nora JoAnne Waddell and husband, Keith, of Kennett; six grandchildren, Frank P. Carter IV, Suzanne Carter, Jacob Waddell, Leigh Erin Waddell, David Lee Carter II and Fox Pierce Carter; one sister, Jeanne Winkler, of Kennett, and other relatives and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Joe Carter and a sister, Martha O'Neil.

Visitation was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 22, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 22, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Bud Evans and Jason Bowen officiating.

Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Keith Fincher, David Jones, Eric Snipes, Odie Wake, Phillip Greenway and Jeremy Allgood.

Honorary pallbearers were Larry Gibson, Joe Pelts, Glen Richardson, Elmer Richardson, Bob White, Huel Jackson, Raymon Casper, James Geohagan, Randy Carter, Freddie Poe, Bill Huff and Mike Mungle.
