Philip R. Russom, 70, of Holcomb, Mo., died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark.
Born July 18, 1939, in Clarkton, Mo., son of the late Roy Filbert and Anna Elizabeth Todd Russom, he was a farmer, a member and deacon of the South Canaan General Baptist Church, a former member of the Holcomb Board of Education and General Baptist Nursing Home board, Missouri University Extension Council, member of the Four Miles Masonic Lodge No. 212 A.F. & A.M., and the Order of Odd Fellows, and 1982 Farm Family of the year.
On June 21, 1959, in Holcomb, he married Sharon DeLaney, who survives.
Survivors also include one daughter, Laura Lynn Davis, of Batesville, Ark.; two sons, Philip Russom, Jr., and Shannon Russom, both of Holcomb; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Roy Lee Russom, of Wall Lake, Iowa, and two sisters, Shelby Colbert, of Campbell, Mo., and Phyllis Stidham, of Anadarko, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Barbara Smith.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Friday, Aug. 14, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Devon Black officiating.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the South Canaan General Baptist Church or to a charity of your choice.
