J.M. Wylie

J. M. Wylie, son of the late John Nixon Wylie and Mary M. (Atkins) Wylie, was born Sept. 1, 1909 and departed this life Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, at St. Francis Medical Center at Cape Girardeau, Mo., at the age of 99 years 11 months and 9 days.

J.M. was married to Maggie Loveless for 70 years. Maggie preceded him in death on Feb. 11, 2003. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Pippen; two brothers and one sister.

Survivors include one daughter, Glenda Wylie, of Spring, Texas; one granddaughter, Tanya Stevens, of Branson, Mo.; one great-grandchild; one great-great-grandchild and other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 11 at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett with services being held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 12 at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with James Powell and Jeff Wade officiating.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers are Larry Metheny, Tom Duncan, Larry and Jimmy Strother, Bill Blankenship and Joey Clark.

Mr. Wylie was from Kennett and Bragg City, Mo., and was a member of Church of Christ all his life.
