Robert Lee "Bob" Higginbotham, 82, of Bridgeton, Mo., formerly of Senath, Mo., died Thursday, July 9, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, Mo.

Born Aug. 12, 1926, in Senath, son of the late Hugh and Nola Higginbotham, he graduated from Senath High School, served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, graduated from Westminster College, received his masters degree from the University of Missouri, taught school with the Clayton School District for 30 years before his retirement and was a member of the National Education Association.

Survivors include his wife, Connie; his children, Mike Higginbotham and wife, Karen, Lee Ann Hottelman and husband, Larry and Andrew Higginbotham and wife, Anita; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Dr. Hugh B. Higginbotham and wife, Donna, of Fayetteville, Ark.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 16, at the Baue Funeral and Memorial Center Chapel in St. Charles, Mo.

Burial was in the St. Charles Memorial Gardens.
