Emma George

Emma Lue George, daughter of the late James Henry Aliston and Rosie Lee Pease Aliston was born Aug. 16, 1928 in Portageville, Mo., and departed this life Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 29 days.

Emma married Charles W. George on March 13, 1947 in Kennett. Charles preceded her in death on Aug. 24, 2007. She was also preceded in death by a brother, William Aliston and four sisters, Milissa Campbell, Lizzie Venters, Nora Sanders and Mattie McCarson.

Survivors include three sons, Charles Ray George and wife, Mary, of Holcomb, Mo., and Walter Lynn George and wife, Elaine, and Gary Randall George and wife, Renee, all of Kennett; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one sister, Imogene Kemper, of St. Francis, Ark., and other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Friday, July 17 at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 18 at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phillip Bartholomew officiating.

Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers are Johnny Darnell, Charles Smith, Gene and Mike Lack, Tyler Gee and Tim Swain.
