No citations were issued following an incident involving an Ashley Furniture truck that broke two utility poles on Tuesday.
According to Larry Jones, superintendent of City Light Gas and Water, at approximately 1 p.m., an Ashley Furniture truck was traveling between Walmart and Stage when the trailer caught a Windjammer Cablevision line, causing two utility poles to break.
Jones said the high voltage line landed on the truck, however, no damages or injuries were reported.
Jones noted that the incident occurred next to a "No Trucks" sign.
According to Kennett Police Officer Craig Moody, a citation was not issued due to the "No Trucks" sign being placed on private property.
Moody said workers from the store where the product was being delivered told the driver that it was okay and as he attempted to complete the delivery, he got tangled up in wires.
As for the payment of the damage, Moody said the trucks insurance company will more than likely take care of the costs, as the incident was written up as an accident.
Jones said CLGW crews worked for nearly an hour to restore the power before getting everything back up and running.
