A power outage on the east side of Kennett lasted for approximately one hour, following an incident involving an Ashley Furniture truck.

According to Larry Jones, superintendent of City Light Gas and Water (CLGW), at approximately 1 p.m., an Ashley Furniture truck was traveling between Walmart and Stage when the trailer caught a Windjammer Cablevision line, causing two utility poles to break.

Jones said the high voltage line landed on the truck, however, no damages or injuries were reported.

Jones said CLGW crews worked for nearly an hour to restore the power and everything is back up and running.

Jones noted that the incident occurred next to a "No Trucks" sign.
