Mary Bobette Luna
Mary Bobette Luna, of Holcomb, Mo., daughter of the late C.A. (Polly) Stacey and Ruby (Shipman) Stacey, was born Aug. 30, 1941 in White Oak, Mo., and departed this life on June 15, 2009, at the age of 67 years, 9 months and 16 days at National HealthCare in Kennett

On June 3, 1960, in Malden, Mo., she married Verlin G. Luna, who preceded her in death on April 11, 2004.

Survivors include one son, Verlin G. Luna, Jr. and wife, Esther, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; three daughters, Verlene Luna, of Holcomb, Mo., Angie Spencer, of Fayetteville, Ark.., and Sheri Holland, of Jefferson City, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Jason Montgomery and wife, Kristin, K.R. Montgomery, Alan, Rachel and Cory Spencer, Brett Luna and Catherine and Ashley Holland; one great-grandchild, Grace Montgomery; one brother, Jack Stacey and wife, Alma, of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Jeanette Busch and husband, Forrest, of White Oak, Mo.; one brother-in-law, Tilford Baker, of Seymour, Mo., sisters-in-laws, Faye Hall, of Overland, Kan., and Betty Stacey, of Kennett and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Bobette was preceded in death by two brothers, James Stacey and Polly Gene Stacey and a sister-in-law, Delores Baker.

Bobette worked in newspaper advertising at the Daily American Republic in Poplar Bluff from 1967 -1989 and at the News Tribune in Jefferson City from 1989-1993. Bobette was a member of Sumach United Methodist Church, Sumach Homemakers Club and Holcomb United Methodist U.M.W.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., today, Tuesday, June 16 at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Susan Marner-Sides, Rev. Jim Pemberton and Rev. Ernest Puckett officiating.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers are Kenton, Harold and Lynn Busch, Wayne Baker, Greg Hall, Jimmy and Jeff Stacey, David Climer, Trevin Haines and Jeff Miles.

Honorary pallbearers are Keith and Kevin Nash, Dr. Mike Caldwell, David Hyde, Forrest Busch, Charles Wilson, Darrell Hutchison, Phillip Russom, Jim McElwrath, Ralph Williams, Don and Lanny Watson, Martin Morris, Mason Cook, Bob Sides, Dan Crawford, Jerry Moore, Jack Crawford and Jerry Moore.
