Born May 30, 1921, in Zadock, Mo., son of the late Albert Green Morris and Mary Alice Cartright Morris, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in WWII. He was an express handler for Railway Express.
On Jan. 11, 1944, in Kennett, he married Beulah Hasty, who preceded him in death on March 28, 1992. He later married Anna Ryan Wheeling on Oct. 29, 1999, in Piggott, who survives.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Morris, of Kennett; three sons, Delmar Wayne Morris and wife, Pam, of Centralia, Ill., Ricky Morris, of Iowa and Donald Ray Morris, of Imperial, Mo.; two daughters, Barbara Gillespie and husband, Bob, of Dexter, Mo., and Patty Morehouse and husband, Ken, of Imperial; two step-sons, Curt Wheeling, of St. Louis, Mo., and Rick Wheeling and wife, Tammy, of Waynesville, Mo.; one step-daughter, Lisa Callis, of Carrollton, Ga.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and Vader Morris and six sisters, Elgie Riles, Verbie Rampley, Annie Winchester, Nell Ishmahl, Beulah Frazier and Geneva Fisher.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., today, Tuesday, June 16, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Rev. Don Emory officiating.
Burial will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, in the Jefferson Barracks Cemetery at St. Louis, Mo.
