Born Oct. 2, 1930, in Delta, Ark., son of the late Alex and Reather Gene McKinney, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Korea. He was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Johnson's House Moving Co., where he was employed for 35 years.
Tom leaves to cherish: Pauline (Lugh) Henry, of Willisville, Ark., Lois Jean (Benny) McDonald, of Piqua, Ohio, Earl McKinney, of Piqua, Sharon Moore, of Kennett, Delano (Billie) Jackson, of Kennett, Hannah Williams, of Kennett, Felicia Jackson, of Imokalee, Fla., Harold Smith, of Kansas City, Mo., Stacey Smith, of Kennett, and Kim and Cassandra Smith, of Kansas City; siblings, Tim (Jeanette), Alex, Jewel (Gena), Jethro (Luetilla), and John, all of Kennett, Edward, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Geneva (Ben) Howard, of Alton, Ill., and Zuella Muse, of Benton Harbor, Mich.; 31 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; lifelong friends, Leonard Younger, Oscar Willoughby and Odell Harrell, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; a brother, James and two great-grandchildren, Khalil Jackson and Alayiah Jackson.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Friday, June 12, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 13, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with Dennis Mikel Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers are Billy J. Alford, Odell Harrell, Darren Howard, Fred Howard, Charles McCracken, Joe Roger, Terry Wheeler and Carl Roland.
