James Robert Sawyer, 52, of Austin, Texas, formerly of Senath, Mo., died Sunday, June 7, 2009, at his residence.
Born Nov. 20, 1956, in Norfolk, Va., son of the late Lee and Wilma Braden Sawyer, he was a member of the Senath-Hornersville graduating class of 1976.
On Dec. 11, 2004, in Austin, he married Kathy Cuff, who survives.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Sawyer, of Austin; one son, Brad Wesley Sawyer; one daughter, Whitney Sasha Prince; one step-son, Jeremy; two brothers, Danny Sawyer and wife, Lydia, of Round Rock, Texas and Larry Sawyer and wife, Mona, of Senath. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Barry Sawyer.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., today, Thursday, June 11, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Senath with Rev. Kevin Sullivan officiating.
Burial was in the Senath Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Charles Mead, Ricky Houart, Billy Don McCormick, Phillip Chailland, Butch "Roy" Phillips and Tony Morgan.
Honorary pallbearers were Paul Cuff, Ken Cuff, Billy Carter, Cody McDowell and Nolen "Slim" Braden.
