The Senath Lions Club hosted its 9th annual Variety Show themed "Beach Party" at 7 p.m., on Saturday, June 6, in the Hornbeck Auditorium at the Senath-Hornersville High School.

"[The event was] one of the best we ever had," Lions Club member Kenny Johnson said.

Saturday's show drew a crowd of approximately 300 people and sold 2,300 of the grab bags during the intermission, which resulted in 500 gifts being won by people in attendance, according to Johnson.

Winners of the gifts included Lester Hunter who won a new BBQ Grill, Bill Lewis who won a bicycle, and Jenny Andrews who won a recliner, Johnson noted.

The event featured the talents of Misty McDowell, Charlie Crawford, Ryan Fisher and Susie Freligh, Jessica Murdick, Marty McMillan, and the Flood Way Surf Kings featuring Zach Johnson, Jamie Holmes, Chuck Clark, Gaylon Anderson, Chuck Long, and Ken Williams.

Performances during the event included McDowell singing "At Last," and "Walking after Midnight," Crawford singing "All my Ex's Live in Texas," and "Turn the World Around," Fisher and Freligh singing "Dream a Little Dream," "Crying," "On the Wings of an Angel," and "Window of my soul," Murdick singing "Proud Mary," and "Alone," McMillan singing "I'm Back," and "I Want to Go Home," and the Flood Way Surf Kings performing "Surfing USA," "Barbara Ann," "Crying Time," "Help Me Rhonda," "Wipe Out," "Louie Louie," "American Trilogy," "Margaritaville," and "Surfing Bird."
