Born Jan. 20, 1921, in Hornersville, son of the late Dolph and Ineys Cook, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII. He was a farmer, motel owner and a property manager.
On April 27, 1942, he married Frances Miriam Brotherton, who preceded him in death on Dec. 26, 1998.
Survivors include a daughter, Sheila Philhours, of Jackson, Tenn.; two sons, Keith Cook and wife, Becky, of Hubbard, Texas and Kerry Cook and wife, Sherrene, of Venice. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, June 13, at 821 Amaryllis Lane, Venice, Fla.
Toale Brothers Funeral Home in Sarasota, Fla. is in charge of arrangements.
