Gathel Reed, 94, of Paragould, Ark., died Monday, May 25, 2009, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.
Born July 23, 1914, in Walcott, Ark., daughter of the late Ivan and Mamie Jackson, she was a homemaker and a member of Warren's Chapel Methodist Church.
She married Henry Reed, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ocil Williams and Thelpa Martin.
Survivors include one son, Wynnbourn Reed and wife, Donna, of Paragould; one daughter, Martha McCain and husband, Russell, of Kennett; three sisters, Melba Wheeler and husband, Carson, of Cahokia, Ill., Zelba Harris, of Marmaduke, Ark., and Glenda Jackson, of Paragould; one grandson, Timothy McCain and wife, Patsy, of Atlanta, GA., and two great-grandchildren, Shelby and Abigail McCain, both of Atlanta.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 28, at the Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 29, at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Dan Walker officiating.
Burial will follow in the Finch Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Randy Lenderman, Steve Hodge, Mark Sanders, Robbie Hodge, Mike McClelland and James Shipman.
