McMinn named top player in Tri-County

Southland's Darcy McMinn was named the Tri-County Conference Player of the Year after batting .547 with six home runs, 26 RBIs and 20 stolen bases in 53 at-bats this spring.

McMinn earned the honor as she batted .547 this season with six home runs and 26 RBIs in 53 at-bats. She stole 20 bases and threw out 50 percent of potential basestealers.

She is joined on the first team by teammate Magen Hembey. Also making the first team are Courtanie Vaughn and Whitney Whorton from Campbell, the Delta C7 duo of Leigha Blankenship and Brittney Tidwell, plus Christine Marlow from Gideon, Holcomb's Mallori Jones and Hannah Hayes from Risco

Joey Kerperien of Campbell was named as the league's Coach of the Year.
