Jewel Blaine Rainey, 90, of Holcomb, Mo., died Monday, May 18, 2009.
Born Oct. 9, 1918, in Walnut Ridge, Ark., daughter of the late John B. Crain and Hester Rachel Smith Crain, she was a member of the General Baptist Church in Holcomb.
On Dec. 27, 1937, in Holcomb, she married Ancil Rainey, who preceded her in death on Feb. 29, 1988. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include one son, Rance Rainey and Hattie Blake, of Greenbrier, Ark.; two grandchildren, Curtis Justin Rainey and Kenny Paul Rainey, both of St. Louis, Mo.; three great-grandchildren, Travis, Mattie and Caden Cash Rainey, all of St. Louis; one brother, Bill Crain and wife, Morya, of Holcomb; one sister, Trula Lutes, of Holcomb and other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Tuesday, May 19, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 20, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Cowsert officiating.
Burial will follow in the Lloyd Cemetery at Holcomb.
Pallbearers are Jim Ward, Rick Casper, Matt Casper, Gaylon Mulllins, Mike Murdock and Brad Emerson.
